Spillover from Family to Employment will occur for FY 2010-2011. Not for September.
Family spillover for 2009-10 is approximately 10500, and is already allocated.

Once you complete the e-filing, the online system will generate a PDF which has the instructions on how/whom to send the documents. You also need to attach a copy of the PDF while sending the docs.
I sent the docs thru USPS, with delivery confirmation.
Yeah, after the e-filing is completed, you will get the receipt number, using which you can track your petition online.

Hi ,
I got deported from Chicago when I was travelling back from India because I worked at a gas station with out authorization . I had to admit that I worked and I was deported back by flight same evening . They gave me the ticket .
My visa is cancelled and I was told to go back to consulate and get a new visa .
I want to come back and complete my studies as I have only 1 semester left . Please help what what should I do now .

If you were registered for the full credit required (I believe 9) then you are permitted to work for atleast 20 hours. I dont specifically know about gas station but students work on campus at the library, cafateria, other departments etc. Maybe gas station is considered off campus? Not sure about legality of that.

The antis regularly say that unathorized immigrants get a range of public benefits but don't pay any taxes. Not so. They're paying $8.4 billion a year in sales taxes and $1.2 billion in income taxes. And they don't get most public benefits. They get public schools for their kids and emergency rooms can't turn them away. That's pretty much it. That article isn't comparing apples to apples . Corporate tax is one form of tax. However, GE and its units pay billions in several other form of taxes, which can be used in part, to offset corporate tax.

The illegal folk paid more in sale tax than income tax -- MEANING what exactly? The LARGE majority did not file / pay Income taxes. Period. Who are they kidding here with the sort of agenda filled write ups?

hey all i can't find where to post a new thread so hopefully I can hijack this quick.
I called the USCIS number for info but can't speak to an operator.
My wife is planning on traveling to hawaii in december. She will have her drivers license by then. She has her I-485, I-130, I-765 and some other M109109 (whatever that is).
she wants to know if its ok for her to travel to hawaii (from florida). it's in the united states so i can't imagine there being an issue. she will be traveling to ohio later that month and to me its the same thing. I'm just trying to get the opinion from someone who would know for sure.

Hawaii is an outlying US state. Going to Hawaii should be no different than flying between two cities within continental US.

Why are you waiting till jan 2008 to apply for green card? Once you file labor and complete one year, i believe you can keep extending your h1 on a yearly basis. So you do not have to go back to India.
Planning to apply GC in 2008 jan or sometime will it be fine. that time my H1 completes 4 yrs. How long will it take labour? will it be over by 2010?

I applied "I130 Immigrant Petition For Relative" on Apr. 04.
What could be the message on my case?

Let us try to schedule a meet with the prospective presidential Candidates (McCain, Clinton and Obama) instead to let them know our issues.
By the time we actually get a meeting with the current president, his term may have expired. The presidential candidates, on the other hand will have some time now (not a whole lot but a little). If we squeeze some time there, we may be able to atleast get our issues out there.

All the forms require applicants signature, Folks download the forms, complete and sign it and send with all the documents ASAP if filing through an Attorney along with the questionnaire. We used to have the same process, complete the questionnaire and then complete the forms, mail it back for signature... but now as the Legal have to file numerous petitions, they asked us to go ahead and fill all the forms and send the docs requested. they will contact back only if issues, else will file and then will notify us. Also make sure you sign all the form and also attach a G28 form signed and attach for each form, I485/765 and 131. This will save lots of time.
Just signing and sending the last page in the 485 which doesnt have much Data .you can save a lot of time. You can verify online the data entry work done by the para-leagl and you are good to go and save couple of days ..i moved to a small firm ( from a over priced attorney ) and he was quite good. My forms are ready to pickup by Fedex in the evening from Attorney's office
