Hi,

I was an employee with company A till march 2008 and i kept a H1b transfer to
company B on march 24th 2008. I was working to company B for an year
on receipt number applied for h1b transfer at USCIS. I got an RFE with
company B in sept 2008 mean while my I-94 got expired on August 2008.
Company B answered the RFE and submitted to USCIS on October 2008.
After waiting for H1B transfer to get approved it got denied on march 10th
2009.

Now i wanted to change my status from H1b to F1(CPT). My questions are
1. If i apply for transfer from H1B to F1 will i be getting New I-94 from
USCIS?
2. Should i be going back to india for getting stamped after i change my
status to F1 ?
3. Can i be on a student status from the day i receive the receipt notice
from USCIS for change of status ?

I would really appreciate your help regarding this issue..

Because of some reason or the other it happend to be so bad that my I140 documents were sent by courier on Tuesday - 17 July 2007.

can any one of you please suggest what best I can do to file my 485 during this current window July 17 to Aug 17 2007.

Has anyone been in a situation where they joined a new employer after having completed 180 days after 485-filing, and sent in AC-21 documentation through an attorney?

If so, which attorney did you choose for the AC-21 paperwork?

- The old attorney, that represented you and your ex-employer, and filed your labor, 140, 485, EAD, AP

- or the attorney representing the new company

- or a third attorney that you went and found on your own

What do you think is the best way to go, if there is a best way to go?

My H-1B expires next year (after 6 years). I have been here 10 years (on J-1 and then H-1B visa). My employer isn't in a position to apply for Labor Certification, although they want to continue hiring me. I want to stay (no relatives here etc.). I know after one year, I can return on a new H-1B if my employer will petition again but it is messy and I want residency. I am from Britain. Help!!!

i've been in the US on a f-1 visa since 2006. i am getting my masters at the moment. i am planning on getting married to my girlfriend who is a US citizen. i have been with her for the past 2 years and am dearly in love with her. we plan on getting married and i was wondering if i get married to her, can i apply for a green card right away or do i have to wait for a while before i can apply for a green card. she is also a student getting her bachelors.
my second question is that if i can apply for a green card then could i take a semester off and return to studying next semester or would that be a problem since i am on an F-1 visa.
i would appreciate it if i could get an answer soon so that i could take the semester off.

Folks,
I am trying to put together documents for my wife's 485 application. The birth certificate was re-issued a couple of years back (with corrections to her mother's name and including her last name which was missing earlier).

The lawyer says we need to put a good reason down for 'why a corrected birth certificate was not obtained until now'.

Do you guys know of a good reason to provide USCIS? Know of any reason which was accepted in case of your friends?

My company got a NOF from PBEC asking on why they filed labor from State-A when the company HQ is in State B. Company has a branch office in State-A. Did any one of you get these kind of NOF, if so how did you answer the NOF. Help is really appreicated.
